TrafficCast and Dial Directions Align to Deliver Voice-Enabled Mobile Services for Audio Traffic

Date: 11.17.2008

TrafficCast International, Inc., and Dial Directions today announced at the 15th Annual ITS World Congress on Mobile Transport Systems, a strategic relationship to develop products and services that will add real-time traffic congestion and travel time forecasts to mobile navigation and routing solutions. Dial Directions, a leading provider of voice-enabled interface for mobile location based services, will team with TrafficCast, a pioneer in traffic data analysis and personalized travel advisories, to provide this long awaited next step in the delivery of voice-activated personalized traffic updates to drivers.

This strategic relationship combines Dial Directions’ hands-free voice entry for navigation solutions, with TrafficCast’s DynaFlow technology, enabling the matching of traffic information to specific routes. Drivers can use the power of their voice to speak their destination and receive audio traffic reports containing travel times and traffic alerts.

“As mobile navigation enhancements continue industry wide, TrafficCast and Dial Directions are at the forefront of providing drivers with what they need: real-time audio traffic updates,” said Neal Campbell, chief executive officer of TrafficCast International. “With Dial Directions’ understanding of the demanding requirements of delivering dynamic data and TrafficCast’s commitment to providing actionable traffic information, we can provide the best solutions to help mobile users navigate their routes.”

The voice-enabled traffic service is accessible through any cell phone at any time. For pre-trip planning, drivers can call ahead to provide their desired route, receive real-time traffic information, and make informed travel decisions. Integration with TrafficCast data will result in an accurate route incorporating traffic information and travel time advisories.

“Real-time personalized traffic updates will further differentiate our navigation solutions,” said Adeeb Shanaa, chief executive officer of Dial Directions. “We’re delighted to partner with TrafficCast to deliver an innovative mobile service that can be used every day by drivers.”
